happy fathers day!
funny enough the aussie’s celebrate fathers day on a different day than other countries. which makes didi a lucky dad. we’re having a lovely day. had breakfast outdoors, wandered around our neighborhood, did some groceries and right now daddy’s taking a nap :). we’ll be 5 weeks in sydney a day after tomorrow! didi is very busy at work and we’re busy trying to set up our lives here. we went to this lovely playgroup the other day. the kids loved it and i planned to go next wednesday again. tomorrow i’m meeting a friend of a friend in centennial park, wednesday this playgroup thingy and sunday we catch up with some dutch friends. quite a nice week to be looking at right?
sad thing though is that poor annissa misses her friends in KL. so badly that she pretends they’re here while she plays :(. it’s hard to explain to her why we don’t live there anymore but we keep on trying. when she goes to her new school those friends will be just a memory (i hope!). we miss our friends too but i know with most of my friends i keep in touch. nowadays it won’t take much energy to keep it up. just by sending someone a small text/email or a quick phone call. anyhow, lennox just woke up from his little afternoon nap so i gotta go!
here’s a link of some pictures i made:

15 days in sydney
and it’s splendid! the things i love: weather, playgrounds everywhere, ferry rides, good meat, friendliness, sidewalks, treelined streets, latte’s…what i don’t like is farmost how expensive this city is. rental prices are going through the roof out here! you pay by week like the british do. but it’s just crazy what you have to put down. public transport doesn’t come cheap either. for a return trip (3 train stops) you pay $10.50 which is 7.34 euro!
annissa and lennox love it here. we try to do something everyday. even if it’s going to the playground. we do our groceries as we don’t have a car right now and buy the things in portions. taking a cab is a thing you hardly do cause a regular ride would cost you at least $30,-. and walking is healthy for you so that’s what we do here hahaha. it gets me back into shape if i continue like this. walking uphill every single day, pushing lennox in his pram while keeping an eye on annissa. and it sounds weird but i’m enjoying it. hope to post some nice pictures i made of this beautiful city soon! for some reason i can’t upload them on didi’s laptop :(.

goodbye - hello!
hello chaps!
from now on this will be the blog i try to update once in a while. tomorrow we leave amsterdam behind us and start a whole new adventure in sydney. our flight goes back to kuala lumpur where we have a seven hour stopover. then on monday night at 10pm we take off to sydney. this means we spend two nights in a plane :(. i’m having a bad cold right now and my nose is completely blocked. i guess that’s all because we’re reaching the end of our holiday and are wiped out. almost every single night we went out for dinner or drinks and ended up in bed in the middle of the night. and every single morning the kids were awake at a crack of dawn! anyway, our stay here was absolutely great and we will miss everyone!
i stumbled onto this pretty picture of lennox street by night
black star pastry: ranked as sydney’s nr. 1 bakery
will check that one out in person :)
